US Open 2016: Laura Robson to play fellow Briton Naomi Broady

Laura Robson will play fellow Briton Naomi Broady in the US Open first round after beating Tatjana Maria 7-6 (7-5) 6-1 in the final round of qualifying.

Victory in New York was Robson's eighth in a row after she won a lower-tier tournament in Pennsylvania last month.

Robson, 22, and Broady are two of eight Britons in the first round, which starts on Monday.

Andy Murray, Aljaz Bedene, Dan Evans, Kyle Edmund, Johanna Konta and Heather Watson also feature.

Murray, the Wimbledon and Olympic champion and number two seed, faces world number 82 Lukas Rosol at Flushing Meadows.
