PRAGUE — Top-seeded Karolina Pliskova produced an ace on her first match point Friday and advanced to the Prague Open final by beating Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium 6-4, 7-5.
It was one of 11 aces for the hard-hitting, 14th-ranked Czech.
Pliskova will face qualifier Lucie Hradecka in an all-Czech final. Hradecka beat another Czech, unseeded Katerina Siniakova, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
Pliskova failed to serve out the match at 5-4 but Wickmayer double-faulted to drop her serve in the following game.
In her third final of the year, Pliskova will seek her first title of 2014, and fourth overall.
