WIMBLEDON, England — It has been 25 years since Brad Stine coached a Wimbledon finalist. He was part of Jim Courier’s team when Courier reached his last Grand Slam final, in 1993, losing at the All England Club to Pete Sampras.
But Stine, still firm of handshake and thoughtful about the game, will be back in the front row of the players’ box on Sunday when Kevin Anderson faces Novak Djokovic in what will be Anderson’s first Wimbledon final.
Stine, a 59-year-old American who once played and coached at Fresno State, and Anderson began working together in December after Anderson, a 32-year-old South African, surprisingly split with Neville Godwin.
