In a clash between two four-time Grand Slam champions, world No.1 Iga Swiatek saved a match point and recovered from a 5-2 deficit in the third set to battle past former No.1 Naomi Osaka in the second round of Roland Garros on Court Philippe-Chatrier, 7-6(1) 1-6 7-5 in two hours and 57 minutes.
In the first set, Osaka had a break point for a 2-0 lead, but then the new mom on tour lost three consecutive games. An early love break gave three-time French Open winner Swiatek a lead, but Osaka later leveled the score to 4-4.
