After ousting title favorite Simona Halep in the fourth round, Polish world No.54 Iga Swiatek continued her fine form by dominating surprise quarterfinalist Martina Trevisan of Italy 6-3 6-1 to advance to her first Grand Slam semis at the French Open.
The world No.159 Trevisan opened the match with a 2-0 lead, but Swiatek won ten of the next twelve games to record yet another quick victory this fortnight. The 19-year-old hasn’t lost a set en route to the semis and today’s encounter that lasted one hour and 18 minutes was her longest at the 2020 edition of the clay-court Grand Slam.
