Three-time champion and two-time defending champion Iga Swiatek demonstrated her dominance at Roland Garros, securing a spot in her fourth final with a commanding 6-2 6-4 victory over Coco Gauff.
Gauff, who is set to reach a new career-high No.2 ranking after the tournament, faced a tough challenge against Swiatek, falling to the Polish star for the 11th time in their 12 meetings. In a highly anticipated semifinal match, Swiatek seized control early, breaking Gauff’s serve twice to claim the first set.
In the second set, while leading 2-1 15-15, Gauff got into a heated argument with an umpire over a line call, which put the audience on her side as she was even wiping away tears.
