Maria Sharapova continued her fine form after returning from a doping ban with a straight-sets victory over Anett Kontaveit to progress to the semi-finals of the Stuttgart Open.
The Russian, who has just returned from a 15-month suspension, beat Estonian qualifier Kontaveit 6-4 6-3.
The 30-year-old broke twice in the first set, and dug deep in the second to take victory in one hour 23 minutes.
She now faces Kristina Mladenovic or Carla Suarez Navarro on Saturday.
"I served quite well and held my serve which gave me confidence, so I'm happy," said Sharapova.
