NEW YORK — Eugenie Bouchard is getting a little help from Jimmy Connors ahead of the U.S. Open.
A statement issued by Bouchard's management company Thursday said the Canadian and Connors have "no long-term plans at this time" for a coaching arrangement.
The statement said Bouchard, the 2014 runner-up at Wimbledon, and Connors, an eight-time major champion, "have been friends for a few years" and that the two are working together this week while Connors is in New York.
Connors coached Andy Roddick and Maria Sharapova in the past — although he worked with Sharapova for all of one match in 2013.
