Mardy Fish, a wild-card entrant playing in the next-to-last tournament of his career, opened with a convincing 6-2, 6-2 upset of 20th-ranked Viktor Troicki on Monday in the first round of the Western & Southern Open in Mason, Ohio.
Fish, who has announced that the United States Open will be his final event before he retires, advanced to face second-ranked Andy Murray after his first singles victory on tour in almost two years.
