Roger Federer raced into the third round of the Paris Masters with an exhilarating display of attacking tennis on Wednesday, thrashing Andreas Seppi, 6-1, 6-1, in 47 minutes. Federer sealed the victory with a sliced backhand drop with so much spin that it eluded Seppi just before he could reach it. Federer will face John Isner, who had 21 aces in a 6-3, 7-6 (3) win over Aljaz Bedene.
Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal also advanced in straight sets. Murray beat Borna Coric, 6-1, 6-2, while Nadal defeated Lukas Rosol, 6-2, 6-2.
