Switzerland’s two greatest tennis players will join forces at next year’s Rio de Janeiro Olympics when Roger Federer and Martina Hingis play mixed doubles together.
Federer, 34, who won a gold medal in 2008 when he partnered with Stan Wawrinka in Beijing, last played alongside Hingis, 35, at the Hopman Cup in 2001.
Hingis came out of retirement for a second time in 2013 and won the women’s doubles at this year’s Wimbledon and United States Open with Sanis Mirza. Hingis has never won an Olympic medal.
