Playing the first clay-court quarterfinal of her career, fourth seed Sofia Kenin overcame fellow American Danielle Collins 6-4 4-6 6-0 to advance to the semifinals of Roland Garros 2020.
For the first time in their four meetings has Kenin managed to win a set against Collins, taking today’s opener in 44 minutes by virtue of a love break she earned in the fifth game. At the same stage of the second set Kenin again went ahead, but Collins immediately broke back to level to 3-3 and then converted her fourth set point as Kenin was serving to stay in the match at 4-5.
