Czech Republic's Katerina Siniakova put an end to Swedish Johanna Larsson's run at the Ericsson Open, eliminating the defending champion at the tournament's semifinal stage by winning a grueling first set and then cruising through the second.
The first to take charge in the match was the world No.92 Siniakova, who went 2-0 up, but after long 36 minutes the players were again even at 2-all. The 82nd-ranked Larsson actually won three straight games from that initial deficit to lead 3-2 in the first set, and it turned out to be the only time Larsson had the upper hand in the match.
