SINGAPORE — Maria Sharapova's voracious appetite for victory makes it difficult for her look on the bright side of any defeat but the Russian was trying to remain positive after her WTA Finals semi-final loss to Petra Kvitova on Saturday.
"I was able to play quite physical matches and get through them. I think that was something that I wasn't sure of coming into this week because I hadn't played a lot," the Russian told reporters after another injury-interrupted campaign.
Struck down by leg and arm ailments, the world number four arrived in Singapore without a match under her belt since July.
