Photos from the Australian Open: Siegemund & Zhang Continue Miracle Runs

Two largely unknown players have continued their dream run at the 2016 Australian Open on Thursday as China’s Shuai Zhang & Laura Siegemund from Germany have advanced to the event’s third round for the first time in their careers.

Zhang backed up her upset win over Simona Halep in the first round with another strong performance, sweeping by Alize Cornet with a dominant straight-set performance. Laura Siegemund had an even bigger mountain to climb, overcoming a lost first-set against Jelena Jankovic to clinch her career-best grand slam result.
