First-round play at the 2016 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix got into full swing on Tuesday as several of the tournaments marquee players and local favorites played their first match inside the Porsche Arena.
Petra Kvitova had the honors of opening the day and the Czech Wimbledon champion did so in style, blowing Louisa Chirico off the court 6-0 6-0, scoring only her second-ever double bagel win.
Ana Ivanovic’s Stuttgart debut was equally successful, the Serbian needed a little longer to bring home her straight-set win over Carina Witthöft though.
