2015 Stuttgart champion Angelique Kerber made her second Stuttgart final against Petra Kvitova, beating the Czech Wimbledon champion in three sets. After taking the first set, Kvitova fought back to force a decider as the crowd managed give Kerber the needed spirits to seal the deal in the third.
While the crowd was pleased to see the Australian Open champion get into the final, the emotional peak of the day came during the second match as local girl Laura Siegemund continued her incredible run in Stuttgart with a straight-set victory over none other than the tournament’s top seed, Agnieszka Radwanska.
