The semi-finals at the 2016 French Open are set as Serena Williams and Kiki Bertens completed the round of the last four at the French classic on Thursday.
While Bertens managed to comprehensively beat Swiztzerland’s Timea Bacsinszky in straight sets, the 2015 champion had her work cut out for her as Serena Williams lost the first set against Yulia Putiintseva, having to take the long way into the sixth round of the tournament.
