During their Junior years, Britain’s Laura Robson & Canada’s Eugenie Bouchard were one of the closest pairing of friends on tour. Ever since then, not only their friendship has faded away but their careers have taken a differen turn as well.
While Genie Bouchard struggled to produce results after reaching her career-high ranking of #5 and making the Wimbledon final, Robson was faced with a career-threatening career injury. The young Briton made another attempt to successfully return to the WTA tour on Thursday, following a less than successful ITF tournament campaign last summer.
Unfortunately for Robson, her match proved that the road back to her old success will be long and rocky as Robson was comprehensively beat by Slovakia’s Magdalena Rybarikova in straight set.
