The weather continues to be a major issue at the 2017 ASB Classic. Tuesday was the second day in a row that had to be cut short at the first tournament of the season due to persistent showers.
The day started promising inside the ASB Tennis Arena as crowd favorite and world #2 Serena Williams was able to win her first match since the 2016 US Open under sunny skies, beating Pauline Parmentier in straights.
Afterwards, Annika Beck and Naomi Osaka finished up their shortened Monday's match, with the quickly-rising Japanese talent being victorious.
