Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko clinched her seventh career title with a 6-3 6-2 victory over Daria Kasatkina in the Adelaide International final.
With wins over Sorana Cirstea, Caroline Garcia, Marta Kostyuk and Ekaterina Alexandrova, Ostapenko reached the Adelaide final, her first on hard courts since Seoul 2022. Kasatkina, on the other hand, played just two matches en route to the final — with her quarterfinal opponent Laura Siegemund withdrawing due to a left leg injury, and her semifinal opponent Jessica Pegula forced to bow out owing to a gastrointestinal illness.
