Murray reaches Paris Masters semis

Britain's Andy Murray reached the Paris Masters semi-finals for the first time with a three-set victory over French 10th seed Richard Gasquet.

Second seed Murray came from a break down in the final set to win 7-6 (9-7) 3-6 6-3 in two hours and 38 minutes.

"It was a tough match," said the Scot, 28. "The crowd was behind him and it was perfect preparation for the Davis Cup, in an atmosphere like that."

Murray will play American John Isner or Spain's David Ferrer in his semi-final.

He faces a challenging end to the season, with the ATP Finals in London only nine days away, followed by Britain's first Davis Cup final since 1978, which gets under way in Belgium in three weeks' time.
