Murray beats Johnson in Shanghai

Britain's Andy Murray enjoyed a comfortable victory over Steve Johnson in his opening Shanghai Masters match.

He beat the American 6-2 6-4 in his first outing since inspiring Great Britain's Davis Cup semi-final victory over Australia on 20 September.

The world number two dropped serve in the opening game of the match but was rarely troubled thereafter, clinching victory in one hour and 16 minutes.

Murray, 28, will face another American, John Isner, in the third round.
