Great Britain's Katie Boulter and Cameron Norrie produced superb comebacks to reach the second round of the Miami Open.
Norrie, the world number 56, recovered from a 5-1 third-set deficit to beat Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka 6-1 3-6 7-5.
The 25-year-old won six straight games to seal victory and set up a meeting with ninth seed Grigor Dimitrov.
Boulter will next face Belgium's world number 17 Elise Mertens after seeing off former world number one Pliskova in a match where both players struggled to hold their service games.
Having lost the first set, Boulter, who suffered a first-round exit in Monterrey last week, began her fightback with a break to move 4-1 ahead midway through the second set and force a decider.
