Martina Navratilova believes that transgender individuals who have experienced all or part of male puberty have an unfair advantage in women’s sports, so she’s seeking provision to President Joe Biden‘s executive order designed to allow equal transgender participation in school sports.
On January 20, the President signed the Executive Order on Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation, intended to enable transgender women who have gone through male puberty to compete in women’s sports.
The 18-time Grand Slam singles champion Navratilova is urging for a separate provision from the executive order to limit the participation of biological boys and men who identify as females in women’s sport, explaining that their absolute equality would endanger the future of women’s competition.
