Petra Kvitova and Karolina Muchova are the last two ladies standing at the Czech Tennis President’s Cup final, a national three-day exhibition tournament organized while the COVID-19 pandemic is preventing international tennis from happening.
In Wednesday’s semifinals, two-time Wimbledon champion Kvitova had her ups and downs against Katerina Siniakova, but eventually advanced in straight sets. The world No.12 Kvitova went a double break up for a 3-0 lead in the first set and after allowing Siniakova to level to 5-5, the higher-ranked Czech eventually took the first set 7-5. The second set also started with a double break lead by Kvitova and Siniakova again recovered, going from 0-3 to 3-3.
