Kerber wins 4th title of the year on 4th different surface

Angelique Kerber beat Karolina Pliskova in the final of the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford and won her fourth title of the 2015 season. Impressively, all the four came at Premier-level events and on four different surfaces, as Stanford is played on hardcourts, while she also won Charleston on green clay, Stuttgart on red clay, and Birmingham on grass.

The fourth-seeded Pliskova recorded as much as 52 winners in the final, but that impressive number was matched by 52 unforced errors, including a forehand error that handed the match to the fifth-seeded Kerber, 6-3 5-7 6-4.
