Top seed Angelique Kerber powered past teenage sensation Ana Konjuh at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, joining seventh seed Elina Svitolina, tenth seed Caroline Wozniacki and Anastasija Sevastova in the semifinals.
The world No.2 Kerber raced to a 4-0 lead in the first set against 19-year-old Konjuh, the second youngest Top 100 player, and even though the Croat fought back by winning three straight games, the German favorite finished the job 6-3. In the second set, after the first five games which went with serve, Kerber broke Konjuh for a 4-2 lead and continued to dominate until 6-2.
