Olympic silver medalist Juan Martin del Potro headlines the list of the men and women that have been selected as wild cards for the 2016 U.S. Open.
Del Potro is coming off a surprise performance in Rio, as the Argentinean knocked off Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal on his way to winning a silver medal.
He won the U.S. Open in 2009 as a 20-year-old, but has undergone three surgeries on his left wrist. He is currently ranked No. 141.
The women are led by American Bethanie Mattek-Sands, who teamed up with Jack Sock to win the gold medal in mixed doubles.
