Johanna Konta: British number one ready for switch to clay after Miami win

Johanna Konta will hope to carry her title-winning form with her from Miami to Charleston as the clay-court season gets under way this week.

The 25-year-old became the first British woman to win the Miami Open on Sunday, helping her to a career-high of seven in Monday's new world rankings.

Konta will play her first match in Charleston on Tuesday or Wednesday.

"It's obviously a very quick turnaround for me headed to Charleston but I think it's also a positive," said Konta.

"It's a great opportunity to hit the ground running a little bit - not too much time to faff around before getting on the clay.
