The final two players have kicked off their 2015 Toray Pan Pacific Open campaign as Ana Ivanovic & Karolina Pliskova have completed their first matches inside Tokyo’s Ariake Coliseum on Thursday.
Following her first-round BYE, Ivanovic got past Italy’s Camila Giorgi to make the quarter-finals. The 2014 Toray Pan Pacific Open champion will be joined there by Karolina Pliskova who punched her quarter-final ticket against Japan’s Kurumi Nara.

The Pliskova – Nara match was briefly interrupted due to rain as the Coliseum’s retractable roof needed to be closed for the first time this week, effectively turning the remaining matches of the day into indoor affairs.
