Top seed Iga Swiatek of Poland completed the 2022 French Open semifinal line-up with a 6-3 6-2 win over 11th-seeded American Jessica Pegula on Wednesday. The overwhelming title favorite is now on a 33-match winning streak, having won 48 of her last 50 sets.
After letting a break lead slip away at the very beginning of the match, Swiatek won four consecutive games from 2-3 to comfortably take the first set. In the second set, the 2020 Roland Garros champion, who turned 21 a day before this quarterfinal, never dropped serve as she broke her opponent twice to sail into the final four in Paris.
