World No.1 Iga Swiatek cruised past Coco Gauff 6-1 6-3 in the 2022 Roland Garros final to win her six title in a row this year and second overall at the most prestigious clay-court tournament. What a way to crown a winning streak, with a Grand Slam trophy!
The 21-year-old Swiatek broke Gauff’s serve three times as she raced through the first set in 35 minutes. Gauff, who had not dropped a set en route to the final, opened the second set with a 2-0 lead, but that was pretty much all the resistance we saw from the American teenager, as Swiatek won six of the next seven games.
