On his left sleeve, Gilles Müller wears the logo not of a corporate sponsor, but of his country, Luxembourg.
“Luxembourg is very famous for their banks and their tax rules and everything, so they felt like they had a bad image,” he said. “So they’re trying to redo everything and reorganize everything, and they asked me if I wanted to help.”
Müller, 34, is a fitting face for such a revitalization effort. He has transformed himself into a better player late in his career, achieving his best results at an age when careers have often been over.
