While so many players are withdrawing from the US Open because of coronavirus concerns, Garbine Muguruza is willing to travel to New York, but an issue with her left ankle is forcing her to skip the August 21st-28th Western & Southern Open and she’ll do her best to be ready for the Grand Slam that follows.
The two-time major champion explained her current health situation and plans on Twitter:

Following the recommendation of my medical team, I have decided to withdraw from the Western & Southern Open due to discomfort in my left ankle.
