French Open: Andreea Mitu wins her first Grand Slam match, then upsets 12th seed and now eliminates former champ

Andreea Mitu wanted to quit tennis a year ago, but this season things started coming into place for the world No.100 Romanian and an icing on the cake is her Saturday's triumph over former champion Francesca Schiavone in third round of the French Open in straight sets, 7-5 6-4. The victory over Schiavone comes just days after Mitu recorded her first Grand Slam match win, in the first round against Alize Lim, which was followed by a second-round upset of seed No.12 Karolina Pliskova. Actually, this week alone the 23-year-old has already earned about 60% of what had been her career prize money when Roland Garros began.
