Sunday was the opening day of Roland Garros 2017 and even though the big tennis fortnight has just started, world number one Angelique Kerber is already out, having fallen to Ekaterina Makarova, while Petra Kvitova crowed her comeback from a career-threatening injury with a straight-set win in the first round.
