PARIS — France has chosen to play on clay when it hosts Netherlands in their Fed Cup semifinal.
The tie will be held at the 4,400-seater "Arena Loire" in Trelaze in northwestern France from April 16-17, the French Tennis Federation said Friday.
France leads the Netherlands 5-1 in their head-to-heads but the countries have not met since the 1997 final, won 4-1 by France.
Two-time winner France captured its other Fed Cup in 1997 while the Netherlands has never won it, finishing runner-up twice.
