PARIS — France has chosen to play on clay when it hosts the Netherlands in the Fed Cup semifinals in April.
The tie will be at the 4,400-seat Arena Loire in Trelaze in northwestern France from April 16-17, the French Tennis Federation said Friday.
France leads the Netherlands 5-1 in head-to-heads, but the teams have not met since the 1997 final, won 4-1 by France.
Two-time winner France captured its other Fed Cup in 2003, while the Netherlands has never won it, finishing runner-up twice.
