Great Britain's Fed Cup World Group II play-off in Romania was suspended for about 25 minutes during Saturday's singles with Johanna Konta in tears.

Play was halted after the hosts' captain Ilie Nastase was sent off in Konta's match with Sorana Cirstea.

Nastase caused controversy in the build-up to the tie after being heard making a derogatory comment about Serena Williams' unborn child.

When play resumed, Konta went on to win 6-2 6-3 and level the tie at 1-1.

However, the incident leading to Nastase being dismissed happened when Cirstea was 2-1 up in the second set.
