Bidding to win back-to-back matches for just the fourth time since lifting the US Open title last September, Emma Raducanu lost to unseeded Caroline Garcia 6-3 6-3 in the second round of Wimbledon on Wednesday.
Coming off victory in Bad Homburg, her third career title on grass, the world No.55 Garcia extended her winning streak to seven matches. The Frenchwoman rarely looked troubled against the home favorite, recording 24 winners that outweighted her opponent’s 11. What makes the victory special is that it was Garcia’s first ever appearance on Center Court.
