World number seven Coco Gauff thrashed Britain's Jodie Burrage to reach the quarter-finals of the Eastbourne International.
American Gauff proved a step up in class for Burrage as she overpowered her 6-1 6-1 in exactly an hour.
Burrage lost 10 games in a row against the excellent Gauff, who will face doubles partner Jessica Pegula next.
Later, Britain's Harriet Dart lost 6-3 6-4 in a closely-fought encounter against Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko.
Dart, another Briton who has produced some good grass-court results, fought hard against Birmingham Classic champion Ostapenko.
However, the 26-year-old Ostapenko was the better of the two in the pressure moments to set up a quarter-final against either Ons Jabeur or Camila Giorgi.
