Draper through to Japan Open quarter-finals

British number one Jack Draper progressed to the Japan Open quarter-finals with a straight-set victory over number two seed Hubert Hurkacz.

The unseeded 22-year-old, who reached the US Open semi-finals earlier this month, took 84 minutes to beet the Pole 6-4 6-4 in Tokyo.

Draper won two of seven break point opportunities and saved three of his own.

The victory was the world number 20's third against a top-10 opponent in 2024 - his most in a single season.

After becoming the first British man to reach the US Open final four since Andy Murray in 2012, Draper says he wants to continue to emulate the Scot.
