World No. 1 Iga Swiatek is currently navigating a turbulent period in her career, but has provided few details about the challenges she’s facing. Initially expected to return at the Wuhan Open after withdrawing from Beijing for mysterious personal reasons, Swiatek has now decided to skip Wuhan as well. In addition to her absence from the court, she has made a significant move by ending her partnership with long-time coach Tomasz Wiktorowski.
Under Wiktorowski’s guidance, Swiatek achieved extraordinary success, winning four of her five Grand Slam titles and ascending to the top of the WTA rankings.
