Great Britain must beat the Netherlands in the doubles of their Davis Cup tie to have a chance of making the knockout stage after defeat for Cameron Norrie.
Dan Evans beat Tallon Griekspoor 6-4 6-4 to put the hosts ahead but Norrie lost 6-4 6-2 to Botic van de Zandschulp to put the Group D tie at 1-1.
Norrie was comprehensively outplayed to set up a nail-biting finale in Glasgow.
Andy Murray and Joe Salisbury are set to face Wesley Koolhof and Matwe Middelkoop in the doubles at 19:20 BST.
A minute's silence was held again before play started and the tie is being played without the usual music between games, as a mark of respect during the period of national mourning following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
