Tuesday proved to be an excellent day for British tennis fans in Eastbourne, not only has the rain moved away from the British seaside but it also turned out to be a fantastic day for British tennis talent.
Glory for the British girls came early as Johanna Konta was able to win the first match out on center court, the British wild-card player got past Russia’s Ekaterina Makarova. Later in the evening, things got emotional as Heather Watson took on Elina Svitolina.
Dropping the first set against the Ukrainian, Watson rallied back to score a much-celebrated three-set win, carried along by the highly-enthusiastic crowd that is very much enjoying seeing one of their own do well on the grass.
