Bouchard Retires Injured at Eastbourne, Wozniacki Advances

EASTBOURNE, England — Eugenie Bouchard retired from her match with a stomach injury, while Caroline Wozniacki came from a set down to beat Svetlana Kuznetsova on Wednesday in the third round of the Wimbledon warm-up tournament at Eastbourne.

Bouchard, the runner-up at Wimbledon last year, was down 6-4, 3-0 to Belinda Bencic of Switzerland when she quit because of an abdominal injury that had been troubling her since the first set.

The seventh-seeded Canadian said the injury would not stop her from lining up at the All England Club, where play begins Monday.

"I'm going to play no matter what, even if I'm on one leg," Bouchard said.
