After securing her inaugural mixed doubles title at a Grand Slam, Hsieh Su-Wei went on to claim the women’s doubles crown alongside Elise Mertens at the 2024 Australian Open.
Partnering with Poland’s Jan Zielinski, the duo, who found each other on the looking list due to the absence of mixed doubles partners, triumphed in a thrilling match on Friday. The 38-year-old Hsieh clinched her maiden Grand Slam title in mixed doubles with a nail-biting 6-7(5) 6-4 (11-9) victory against the team of American Desirae Krawczyk and Britain’s Neal Skupski.
