Johanna Konta and Kyle Edmund both reached the second round of the Australian Open with straight-set wins.
British women's number one Konta, seeded ninth, coped with heat rising to 35C before beating Belgium's Kirsten Flipkens 7-5 6-2 in 96 minutes.
Edmund played superbly to defeat Colombia's Santiago Giraldo 6-2 7-5 6-3.
Heather Watson and Naomi Broady are also in action against Australians Sam Stosur and Daria Gavrilova.
They will be seeking to join Konta, Edmund, Andy Murray and Dan Evans in the second round.

Konta shows her credentials
Last year Konta became the first British woman to reach an Australian Open semi-final since Sue Barker in 1977, and the first to reach the last four at any Grand Slam since Jo Durie at the 1983 US Open.
