World No.1 Ashleligh Barty is lifting silverware on home soil for the first time in her career with an emphatic 6-2 7-5 victory against unseeded Dayana Yastremska in the Adelaide International final.
Barty conceded just two points on serve in the entire opening set. The top-seeded Australian proceeded to go 2-0 up in the second set, when the 19-year-old Yastremska won three straight games and soon had two break points to go 5-3 up. However, Barty saved them both to level the score 4-4, broke the Ukrainian to love in the eleventh game of the set and then served out for the Premier-level title.
